Via Ferrata

 

This activity is somewhere between rambling and mountaineering, and is suitable for both children and adults.It consists of rungs fixed to the rock, and a safety belt attached to a cable protects the climbers from potential falls.

The Via Ferrata in Tière is 460 metres long, climbs the rocky wall at a 75 degree angle and straddles the waterfalls of the Tière river with footbridges three times over its course. The departure point is situated at the Sous-Scex Bridge, at an altitude of approximately 900 metres. The arrival point is situated at 1,126 metres.

A specially marked trail from Champéry and Val-d’Illiez leads to the Via Ferrata and make it easy to get to
